Design Manager

Reynco Ltd are hiring a Design Manager to support the delivery of complex, high-value construction projects within regulated environments. This is a senior internal role suited to an experienced design professional with strong main contracting credentials and exposure to technically demanding programmes.

Location: Hybrid working with on-site presence in Barrow-in-Furness (2 days per week)
Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits

The Role
You will take ownership of the design process from early concept through to construction and handover, coordinating internal teams, consultants, and specialist subcontractors to ensure designs are compliant, buildable, and aligned with programme and cost objectives.

The role is internal and delivery-focused, operating within a main contracting environment. Experience in nuclear or defence projects is strongly preferred due to the regulatory, assurance, and compliance requirements.

You will oversee design development, manage risk, support value engineering, and maintain robust design documentation and reporting. You will also work confidently within AutoCAD and BIM environments, reviewing and coordinating technical information across disciplines.

The Ideal Candidate
You will have proven experience as a Design Manager within a main contracting setting, ideally on nuclear or defence projects. Strong knowledge of construction processes, design coordination, and regulated environments is essential.

Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, and digital design coordination tools is required. NEC contract experience, chartered status, and security clearance or the ability to obtain it are all advantageous.
